“The Grotto” is an abstract painting on silk inspired by my recent trip to Phang Nga Bay, Thailand. I have tried to capture the beauty of the landscape – the craggy caves with their roofs almost touching the sea and suddenly opening into blue lagoons dappling in the sunshine.
This abstract painting is gallery wrapped for a more modern, contemporary look, inviting nature right into your home or workspace. The silk wraps around all four sides of the canvas frame for the continuity of the painting. Giclee prints of the original can also be matted and framed behind glass as displayed in mock-up room settings.
I have used a mix of silk and fabric paints to provide luminosity and texture to the painting.
